That make no sense. They are doing it in honor not to be offensive.

The arabs are the mascot for the high school because they were the first people to be there and make it a community.

They might be cartoons but they can't take a real picture of an Indian and put it as their sports logo, they could be more defended by that anyway.

I think they shouldn't have to change the mascots because a lot of mascots are about their history, like one high school named their mascot the Arabs because they started the community with date farms. Also they name then like that as an honor to them for what they have done and how proud they are of them. Also to show awareness about them, so people can respect and know about the culture of the mascot.
